Stuck on something? Start here

Most issues fall into one of three buckets: installing the package, signing in and syncing, or a permission the browser is holding back. Work through the fixes below, then send us the details if it persists.

Install problems

Chrome refuses the ZIP: unzip it first and use Load unpacked on the folder, not the archive.
The CRX shows “not from the Web Store”: enable Developer mode, then drag the .crx onto chrome://extensions.
Firefox unloads the add-on after a restart: temporary add-ons are cleared on exit — install the signed build for a permanent install.

Sync and sign-in

Sign in on the web app first; the extension picks up that session automatically.
If the status pill stays amber, open the new tab and leave it focused for a few seconds so the queue can drain.
Blocked third-party cookies can stop the session relay — allow cookies for the Z TAB domain.

Permissions and privacy

Bookmark import needs the bookmarks permission; grant it once and it can be revoked afterwards.
Widgets that call an external API (weather, markets, prayer times) only send the location or symbol you configured.
You can export everything as JSON or HTML at any time from the bookmark explorer.
